Tsum (Hidden) Valley Trek 17N/18D
Tsum Valley Trek is a moderate trek with a maximum altitude of 4200 at Ganesh Himal Base Camp. Tsum literally means the Vivid and also a sacred hidden valley which is situated in the northern Gorkha.
Since 2008, this trek was opened for international tourists with special permits as this valley is considered as one of the restricted areas classified by the government of Nepal.
Tibetan origin local people speak their own dialect, follow Buddhist religion, culture, traditions, and customs.
Being not as much explored like other trekking destinations of Nepal, the untouched beauty makes this trek much more enjoyable in the biodiversity landscapes terrain.
It has a long history of Buddhism. In the caves of these mountains, saint Milarepa is believed to be meditated. We can see the stone footprint of Milarepa in the Milarepa cave at Lamagaon village.
This valley is especially rich in wildlife, especially Himalayan Tahr and blue sheep. The Shear Khola, which originates from the western glacier of Ganesh Himal and southern glaciers of Singri Himal has drained the valley.
As long as this valley is rich in the Buddhist faith, there are many Buddhist monasteries like Mu Gompa (3700m), Rachen Gompa, Dephyudonma Gompa, great sage Milarepa Cave and the trace of his foot on the rock.
Not just the Buddhist culture, but also the amazing view of the landscapes, rivers, lush green forests, alpine forests, ancient caves, waterfalls, typical local villages and splendid view of mountains like Bouddha Himal (6692m), Ganesh Himal (7422m), Shringi Himal (7187m), with crystal clear sky makes this trek an unforgettable one in the Himalayan valley of Nepal.
